In conjunction with the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC), and a grant from the League for Innovation in the Community College, we are excited to offer the Retail Management Certificate!
This certificate provides the opportunity for individuals wishing to advance their career in retail or open doors to new workplace opportunities. This industry-recognized certificate can be completed in as little as one year, and the courses required for this program can be applied to an A.A.S. degree in Marketing and/or Management.
In order to receive the Retail Management Certificate, you will complete the below courses.
IMS - 115: Microsoft Office
BUS - 231: Principles of Management
BUS - 130: Principles of Marketing
COM - 103: Speech Fundamentals
BUS - 170: Introduction to Human Resources
PSY - 201: Industrial / Organizational Psychology
BUS - 131: Principles of Retailing
BUS - 142: Financial Accounting
If you’re currently an employee within the retail environment you may qualify for tuition assistance through the League for innovation Brighter Futures 3.0 grant.
Retail positions can be in the areas of clothing shops, supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores and many more. For purposes of this program, “retail” is broadly defined and may include some occupations not normally thought of as being in the traditional retail sector may qualify.
The Retail Management Certificate was created by industry experts as a leadership development program to provide relevant knowledge and skills to their workforce.
