This program prepares students for employment in the welding field. Students gain experience in SMAW (stick), gas metal arc welding (mig), gas tungsten arc welding (tig), brazing, braze welding, oxy fuel and plasma cutting. Metallurgy, welding print interpretation, electrical welding circuits, and related safety procedures are also covered. Advanced training in pipe welding using the shielded metal arc process or advanced training in industrial problems are offered as options to this certificate.

Once students gain employment and experience in the welding field, this education helps them be eligible for advancement in the workforce.
