If you love to bake and you've always dreamed of making dessert creations that taste delicious and look amazing, you should consider earning an A.A.S. degree or certificate in baking and pastry.

Our highly skilled faculty will teach you the essential skills to effectively work in the hospitality industry and to oversee baking and pastry food service operations in hotels, health care facilities, 游轮, catering companies and manufacturing operations.

With our hands-on classes, you'll learn basic baking principles and pastry preparation for cakes, 面包, 饼干, frozen desserts and other baked goods. You also will gain expertise in menu planning, 成本控制, 市场营销, 营养, 环境卫生, and food preparation and production.

After completing training in this degree program, graduates will be qualified to work in a number of baker or pastry chef niches, including wedding and cake design, culinary desserts, 食品安全, chocolates and confections, 面包 making and pastry design. This program will prepare you for entry- to mid-level positions within the hospitality industry. 

就业 of bakers is projected to grow 8% from 2021 to 2031, faster than the average for all occupations. Bakers with years of experience should have the best job opportunities, with employment driven by the growing demand for specialty baked products.

This certificate is designed to provide basic training for entry- to mid-level positions in a baking/pastry hospitality operation.
